A great show record doesn't make a stallion great - it's in the Genes! Chex has Hall of Fame genetics, and is proving himself in the breeding shed by producing point/money earners in 8 different AQHA/NSBA events. With Chex’s good looks, great movement and trainable attitude it makes him the perfect sire for the new AQHA class, performance halter.
When I found CHEX at Saul Farms in Arkansas, and discovered that he was the son of The Investor, I was hooked. The Investor has sired world champions and supreme champions in both halter and riding events. My next discovery was that CHEX was out of The Country Girl, a mare whose foals have earned more than 200 points, and whose stud colts have been producers. Her first colt was The Big Investment NSBA Hall of Fame by The Investor. In his two years at stud, The Big Investment sired 129 colts. His foals earned over 4980 points with 70 ROM's. Another full brother to The Big Chex, Investor Cluso has proven himself in the show ring and is also producing winners. The Country Girl has also produced Zip to the Country by Zippo Pine Bar, a 3/4 blood brother to The Big Chex. The Big Chex stands 15 hands, his mother The Country Girl stood 15'2 hands.
World class genetic breeding means nothing without a great attitude, and CHEX has that great attitude. If the stall cleaners are in a hurry, they find it is easier to tie CHEX up, or they find themselves in a playful game of tug-of-war with the rake handle serving as the rope. It is not uncommon for the barn cats to choose his stall to birth and raise their kittens.
A couple of years ago I found myself without a horse to ride. Even though CHEX was only green broke, I was able to ride him and found his movement exciting and so natural. It is a shame that he was injured as a yearling and not shown. He would have made a great impact. Now his offspring are proving how truly superior his genetics are. The Big Chex is a stallion that can produce outstanding movers, and he truly looks the part of a world class stallion.
